Steinberg IXO Series Titel

Steinberg has recently launched the IXO series of USB audio interfaces, which were developed for musicians, podcasters, and content creators seeking a compact and versatile recording solution. The IXO family includes the IXO12 and IXO22 models, as well as bundled packages like the IXO Podcast Pack and IXO Recording Pack, delivering a portable and efficient recording, podcasting, and streaming platform compatible with Windows, Mac, and iOS.

Available in both black and white finishes, the IXO12 and IXO22 interfaces boast two inputs and two outputs, supporting 24-bit/192 kHz audio quality, hardware-based latency-free input monitoring, and high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity via USB-C. The compact design and lightweight construction make the IXO interfaces suitable for on-the-go recording in any location.

The IXO12 features a combo mic/line input with a studio-grade Class A microphone preamp, along with a Hi-Z jack input for direct connection of electric guitar or bass. On the other hand, the IXO22 includes two combo mic/line inputs, both equipped with Class A microphone preamps and a Hi-Z input. Both models incorporate a front panel gain control for each input, switchable +48 V phantom power for condenser microphones, and a headphone output. The IXO22 further provides an independent volume control for the headphone output, along with a mute button for each input to instantly disable the input signal during streaming or recording.

The rear panel of both units features two 6.3 mm TRS line outputs and two USB-C sockets. One USB-C port is dedicated for connection to a Mac or PC computer, iPad, or iPhone, while the other serves as a USB-C power source when used with iPad or iPhone. Both the IXO12 and IXO22 include the Loopback function for easy high-quality live streaming and a direct monitor switch.

The IXO Podcast Pack combines the IXO12 USB audio interface with the ST-M01 studio condenser microphone, a microphone pop shield, a low-noise microphone cable, and a tabletop stand. This bundle provides users with a comprehensive recording solution suitable for capturing vocals, interviews, acoustic instruments, and field recordings.

This package also includes a low-noise microphone cable.

Stefan Schreiber, Steinberg’s senior marketing manager for hardware, expressed excitement about the new IXO series, stating, “With great-sounding preamps and industry-standard conversion in a lightweight yet rugged housing, IXO interfaces are excellent mobile recording partners for everyone who is working with audio. And what’s more, they are available at a truly impressive price point.”
